Transport Dangerous Goods (TDG) are those products and substances classified as dangerous by federal and provincial legislation.
Transport of these products by air, marine, rail, and road is regulated under the federal Transport of Dangerous Goods Act, 1992. The safe handling and transportation regulations require the proper signs and labels to be used to identify all dangerous goods.
The TDG Clear Language Regulations requires that any person who handles, offers for transport, or transports dangerous goods must be adequately trained and hold a training certificate. An employer must not allow an employee to handle such goods unless he/she is adequately trained to do so.
